Amazing extension to the Firefox website

As you know that I am currently struggling with Japanese especially horrendous kanji where you need to find out its meaning and its pronunication. Currently, I have to use the special Input Method Editor (IME) which u can download from the Microsoft website for free of charge and then I have to use the mouse to draw the kanji characters which I am not familiar with. Then I am able to deduce the hirangana meaning from the kanji characters and then I have to refer to my palmtop translator or refer to this useful website http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html to find the meaning of that word. So "ley chey"!!!!!!

Now, I have done a little "window-shopping" at the "shopping mall" at the Mozilla.org to find any interesting adds-on especially for the language purpose. I find a very innovative extension which allows you to put your mouse cursor over an unfamilar kanji words and it will be able to cascade its meaning and all the related words and their accompanying meanings. See the printshot that I have pasted below. For example, i came across the word "響き”、””which I am not sure of. I can just place my mouse cursor over that word, and u can see the pop-up box that gives you a cascading list of meanings. Fantastic and so conveninet for me to find the meanings at a mere fingertip within seconds! Perhaps the screenshot could be a bit too small for you to see. Fret not, you can click on this image to show you a bigger version of the image.

Similarly for chinese, you can do the same thing for simplified and traditional chinese. See a screenshot for simplified chinese characters.

You can go to this website to download relevant softwares if you are interested in improving your japanese or chinese vocabulary. Good luck! http://perapera.wordpress.com
